Exterior design was characterized by sharp lines, low-slung roofline, and distinctive from grill. Its compact size make it agile and easiy to manuever in urban environments. The two-seater cabin provided driver-focused cockpit, with sport and modern design elements including a digital instrument panel.

Despite being labelled as sports car, CR-Z is fuel efficient and eco-friendly. Offered three driving modes being Normal, Sport, and Econ.
