Like previous IS Lexuses, the IS250 also had very communicative steering. It wasn't as tactile or go-kart-like as the original IS200, but with the rear-wheel-drive leaving the front wheels to do the turning and not the driving, the tiller was still quite a sharp instrument.

Safety and luxury were givens in a car such as the IS250, and you will find a full list of safety gear including every kind of traction, stability and braking aid as well as a suite of airbags.

It was the same for comfort with heated seats, power-adjust for everything and even nice touches such as a reversing camera that shows your likely trajectory based on where the front wheels are pointed at that moment.

The V6 engine might have distanced it from its BMW 320 opposition but it only brought it closer into line with the other cars as Mercedes C200 or Audi A4 it was selling against.

Toyota quality is one thing, but Lexus' is even better. Even so, a car will only ever be as reliable as its previous servicing will allow, so make sure the service record is complete and up to date.
